By using the Log Now web app or submitting a log, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy and Security Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Log Now web app or submit a log.
Who we are
Log Now Decide Later provides survivors of sexual assault with a private, anonymous space to document what happened to them on their own terms through the Log Now web app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Log Now web app.
The Log Now web app
The Log Now web app is designed for survivor choice, privacy, and control:
Create a log without answering any questions, including submitting a blank log;
Skip any question;
Write anything you want in a private text box;
Use a unique access code to return to your private text box to read, edit, delete, or add more;
View and optionally answer 6 demographic questions;
View and optionally answer 4 barriers to service questions about if you reported, and if you accessed medical, mental health, and legal services;
View and optionally answer whether it happened within the past year or more than a year ago.
The Log Now web app is not
Not a report to law enforcement;
Not a report to a school;
Not a Title IX report;
Not a report to a court;
Not medical care;
Not therapy or counseling;
Not legal advice or legal representation;
Not an emergency service.
Emergency / immediate danger disclaimer
If you are in immediate danger or need emergency assistance, contact emergency services or a trusted local crisis resource.
Log Now Decide Later is not monitored as an emergency service and cannot provide immediate assistance.
Privacy and anonymity
No account;
No username;
No email required;
No contact information required;
The private text box is designed to be accessible only with your code;
Lost codes cannot be recovered.
Log Now Decide Later and partner organizations do not have access to and cannot read your private text box.
Optional Data We Collect
We collect aggregated responses to the optional demographic, barrier, timing, feedback, and “Other” write-in responses.
Optional demographic, barrier, timing, and “Other” write-in responses are stored separately from the private text box and are not designed to be linked back to it.
Optional feedback write-in responses are stored separately from the private text box and from the optional demographic, barrier, and timing responses.
Use of Optional Data
Optional demographic, barrier, and timing responses may be used to:
Understand barriers survivors face to reporting and accessing medical, mental health, and legal services.
Understand how different survivor identities affect reporting and seeking medical, counseling, and legal services.
Optional feedback write-in responses may be used to:
Better understand community needs
Optional data will not be displayed unless at least 10 submissions have been received.
Suppressed results will display as: “Not enough data to display safely.”
Log Now Decide Later and, where applicable, partner organizations connected to the community link used, may view the optional aggregated responses.
Access code
You are responsible for saving your access code.
If your access code is lost, Log Now Decide Later cannot recover it or restore access to your private text box.
Prohibited uses
Do not attempt to access another person’s log;
Do not attack, scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt the Log Now web app;
Do not submit malware or harmful code;
Do not attempt to identify other users;
Do not misuse partner links or aggregated data.
Availability and changes
The Log Now web app may be changed, paused, updated, or discontinued. Features may be modified as the web app evolves.
Limitations
We work to protect privacy and security, but no online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure or continuously available.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms as the Log Now web app evolves. The “Last Updated” date will show when changes were made.
